Word Recall, Memory, Focus, Calm, Sleep Quality

“When I met Trish, I had suffered from a TIA (transient ischemic attack or ministroke) and a difficult divorce. My body had suffered significant trauma from both. Although my TIA was a minor episode I had difficulty with word recall and focus. I had heard about programs using the brain’s own image to help heal itself and was cautiously optimistic that it may help me.

After just a couple of sessions with Trish using the neurofeedback program I was seeing marked improvement in my word recall, memory and focus. Although I was tired after each session, it’s like a marathon for your brain, I was motivated by my results to continue.

I continued for another several sessions and found that my quality of sleep improved greatly, the fact I could sleep a full 8 hours was a miracle!  I was also suffering with severe anxiety for the first time in my life. After the second round of sessions I was able to ‘rewire’ my responses and change to a more calm, even keeled state when dealing with situations that previously would have caused an anxiety attack. I am no longer on any medications, which was my goal.

I found the whole experience healing and helpful. Trish’s professionalism and keen people skills make her extremely effective in obtaining positive results. I would not hesitate in referring Trish to anyone looking to heal from addiction, abuse, high stress, cognitive impairments or just wanting to sharpen yourself for better focus and personal /career development. The benefits of this program far outreach the expectations!”

Competitive Edge, Memory, Efficiency, Metal Alertness, Sleep Quality, Inner Peace, Positive Outlook

“When I first began Brain Training with Trish, I did not have any expectations. I did not begin because I had identified any problems, but I was curious and interested in the experience. I had recently been promoted to a leadership position at work and was doing well but finding the increased demands of the position “fatiguing” to my aging brain (I was 57). I also found at the end of the day my brain felt so tired I had little mental energy left to do much more than watch TV, and was “sluggish” and crankier than I wanted to be, but accepted all these things as “par for the course”.

After the first session I felt different. While Trish explained it was unusual to feel the effects so quickly, I immediately felt myself able to focus better and noticed I seemed to be more alert. After a few more sessions, I began to notice more and more positive effects.

My focus and alertness continued to improve. I was able to "switch gears" better between tasks noticing that in a busy day filled with multitasking and many changing and challenging demands, I was able to focus completely on each task at hand and switch focus as needed quickly and effectively. I was not distracted as easily.

I began to notice throughout my day, my ability to store information, and retrieve and access that information were greatly enhanced. This made me more able to respond to any situation or challenge more effectively in the moment. I'm not saying it made me smarter, or more intuitive, just that it made my full potential accessible to me in the moment. I feel like I am occupying all of my brain, as if the sludge has been cleared away and my memory is more efficient than it has been in many years.

One amazing result was I noticed I am much more calm. I feel as though I have a deep well of peace to draw on when faced with challenges. I am able to switch effectively and completely from one situation to another, giving the immediate situation the appropriate attention and response it deserves, then leave it and switch to what is needed in the next event. When in fun situations, find I can enjoy them much more fully, and not allow pressures from other areas erode my ability to enjoy the moment.

As I had not been expecting much in the way of results, Trish and I had not discussed in detail what I could expect in various areas, however she asked me to be alert to any changes I noticed. As my sessions progressed, I began to notice more and more positive effects. Trish and I would discuss the things I was noticing and she would confirm these were the exact effects brain training was meant to elicit.

Those changes included but were not limited to the following:

  • Markedly increased mental alertness and quickness; for example, I was more alert and focused at work whether in meetings, or working on projects myself (I described it to her as feeling as I I had my 40 year old brain back functioning on all cylinders).

  • Improved ability to switch between types of brain activity, for example, I noticed when I was with my family, I was able to “switch off” work mode and be entirely present and in the moment, enjoying more, laughing more, having more fun. I had not realized this was not happening before, until I noticed it happening after commencing brain training.

  • Generally happier (in fact, it was so noticeable that, while I had not spoken much to my family about the training, at one point when I had been too long between sessions, my daughter commented that I was getting grumpy again and should go back to see Trish for some training. When I explored this with her, she explained she noticed a marked difference in my affect when brain training.

  • While falling asleep had not been a problem for me, I notice a better ability to stay asleep and a great improvement in waking up in the morning refreshed and alert. Often I wake up long before my alarm and get up because I am “slept out”, and am functional for the whole day.

  • Improved ability to focus on healthy eating. If there was anything I wanted to change, it was that I have been struggling with my weight all of my life, and wished I had more will power to diet. Trish explained that while brain training cannot claim to make your body lose weight, it does claim to stabilize you emotionally which can improve impulse control and help you regulate and better respond to emotional triggers. I cannot describe this as increased will power exactly, but instead a better ability to “put on the breaks” when thinking of eating unhealthy foods and stay focused on eating for fuel. I have lost 45 pounds since I began brain training.”

Motivation, Energy, Confidence, Organization, Focus

“When I first came to Trish for help I was depressed, sad, anxious and my self confidence was at an all-time low.  My first appointment was about two hours where trish asked me some very personal and in depth questions.  My next appointment, a few days later was my first neurofeedback "hook up" session with the sensors. I was a little "skeptical" at first.  However, it was a very painless, pleasant and productive experience.

Even after the first session I felt significantly happier.  The very next day I had an incredible amount of energy and I was so organized!  I also felt like I was holding my head up a little higher.  My organizational abilities got significantly better.  I seemed to be able to tackle more in a day and I was able focus better.”

Focus, Motivation

“I have always been off the charts with my ADD. And that causes real issues in my work and relationships. Brainflexx really makes a difference for me in a big way, by improving my focus and curtailing my procrastination. Although I have gone through a lot of turmoil in my life over the past couple of years (family break up and a death in the family among other things), I feel my ability to get through those difficult times has been much better as a result of my time with Brainflexx. My ability to stay calm and prioritize has improved dramatically. And periodic refreshers with Trish get me back on track, enabling me to cope better and get the right things accomplished, on a more consistent basis. So my stress is down and I like myself more. Thanks Trish!”

Lifted Mood, Emotional Stability

“If there was anything I wanted to change, it was that I have been struggling with my weight all of my life, and wished I had more will power to diet. Trish explained that while brain training cannot claim to make your body lose weight, it does claim to stabilize you emotionally. Being more emotionally stable you are better able to control impulses and triggers caused by emotions that do not occur as frequently.

I set my goals as increased will power, increased impulse control, increased focus, and improved mood.

I noticed that when it came to the ability to diet, it was not so much that my will power increased, but that the need for will power decreased. It seems counter intuitive, but I was no longer in a constant battle against the desire to eat foods that I knew would not be good for my weight loss goals. I was no longer constantly thinking about food: what to eat, what not to eat, how long I would have to go without foods that I loved that I could not or should not eat. I was also no longer obsessing about how much weight I needed to lose and how long it would take me to do it.

I was also no longer obsessing about how much weight I needed to lose and how long it would take me to do it. Instead, I was more able to focus on the nutritional needs of my body and to make choices, when hunger struck, that would "fuel the machine''.

As the training continued, and my emotional state seemed to be more and more positive and calm my eating, which was often triggered by emotional stress, was not being triggered by that. My ability to respond to emotional triggers more appropriately improved, and I began to notice a "deep well of calm" upon which to draw when faced with emotional challenges.

Since I began brain training I have lost 40 lbs.”

Wellbeing, Sleep Quality, Happiness

“My daughter has suffered from high anxiety for the past few years. As she was entering her teenage years things got worse rather than better. We tried counselling and anxiety therapy - both of which helped a little. But then her worry would come back and be more intense than ever. After just a few sessions with Trish, my daughter's symptoms were noticeably improving. She suddenly felt happier and less anxious. Her intense feelings of anxiety decreased significantly. And her ability to go to sleep on her own at night - without mom or dad having to sit with her for an hour - helped not just her life, but that of the entire family. And she has not relapsed back into that pattern of nighttime anxiety for over six months now. On occasion she still feels some anxiety, but the intensity is way down as well as the frequency. And we attribute that to Brainflexx and the power of feedback, our brains ability to reprogram itself!”

Confidence, Athletic Performance

“Just prior to my starting neurofeedback I had had applied for a job that I really wanted.  Subsequently, I was able to secure an interview and aced it!!  I was not nervous or anxious heading into the meeting, I was confident and relaxed and was hired within the first five minutes of the interview!

I am also a competitive ballroom dancer.  The day after my first Brainflexx session my instructor commented that I was in my "competitive" mode, I said I was more enthusiastic, focussed and moving like a “pro.”  I felt "different".....I was dancing with a lot more confidence and it felt really awesome!!  My dancing has improved so much just in the three weeks, we both can feel it and see it after every lesson! Thanks Trish.”
